Smithsonian Media is offering Museum Day this Saturday – providing free admission to the Smithsonian and its affiliated museums. You’ll need to head here in advance to print out a ticket – it’s one ticket per valid e-mail address and the ticket admits two people. Once you’ve selected the museum you’d like to visit (there are hundreds available in several states), click the blue “Download Now!” box in the middle of the right-hand side of the page. (It looks like an ad so it took me a little time to figure out how to get my tix.)
Since the Zimmer Children’s Museum is closed on Saturdays, they’ll participate on Sunday, which means it will be a free Jewish museum weekend as I signed up J to receive a ticket to the Skirball Cultural Center on Saturday. I’m excited to take P to the Noah’s Ark exhibit going on there, and can’t wait to take P back to the Zimmer Children’s Museum as she loved the toddler play space there as well as the water table (which had streaming jets so that you could launch toy boats, submarines, etc. from one end and receive them at the other). Happy Friday!
